A February Makeup Menu
Ah, the monthly round-up of all the products that have been gracing my face. This month signals the month of mixing up old flames with new favourites to create a look that's effortlessly cool.
As far as skincare goes in the morning, I have been keeping it pretty simple - simply using the Glossier Priming Moisturiser and GinZing Eye Cream, nothing new to report here. One quick thing to note is that the Glossier moisturiser is nowhere near as good as my holy grail Lait Creme Concentrate, I can't even say that it's more accessible or affordable so, note to self, next time just buy what you already know and love.
This is definitely becoming a somewhat negative post, but I will continue - the Eve Lom Foundation. Something about this foundation is just grinding my gears; to sum up, it's just everything I could hate in a base product. It clings to any dry patches and settles into the slightest lines that you didn't even know existed, generally just making my face look dry and dull - a huge disappointment for such a coveted brand. In attempts to work with the foundation, I put on an old favourite, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This stuff is great for when you really want some coverage and don't really care too much about looking glowy or sporting a no-makeup look because this is fairly dry in formula, totally not in a bad way though. I've also been going through a phase of getting back into colour correctors, remember when they were a huge thing? Just a bit of the Urban Decay Peach Corrector underneath concealer is enough to make me look like a got a bit of sleep the night before. To set the concealer in place I use the MUFE Ultra HD Powder to make sure nothing budges.
Another product taken from the depths of my makeup collection is the NYX Blush in Taupe, a super cool toned grey that is a gorgeous contour for the palest of skin - a bit of this under the cheekbones and I permanently look like I'm sucking my cheeks in. Then for blush, I have been using Glossier's Cloud Paint in Dusk, a kind of orangey tone which shows up on me as something between blush and bronzer. Finishing off with the Bare Minerals Invisible Glow which has become my new favourite highlighter, for being inoffensive yet radiant and glowy.
The rest of the routine is pretty standard, NYX Micro Eyebrow pencil followed by Glossier Boy Brow. A quick curl of the eyelashes with lashings of jet black mascara. The cherry on top being Glossier Generation G Lipstick in Jam, to add a bit of colour to this whole look. Et voila!
What has been your go-to makeup look this month?
